Elvaston Castle Pre Wedding Session
After meeting up with Lauren and Dominic a while back to discuss their beautiful September wedding in September, I was excited to photograph them for the engagement/pre-wedding shoot. We chose Elvaston Castle grounds as the location as they are based in Nottingham and it was equal distance for both of us and an old stomping ground of mine! I knew both Lauren and Dominic were a little nervous having their photo taken so I wanted to keep it really relaxed, natural and comfortable!
Engagement shoots are the perfect time to get comfortable in front of the camera before your special day, and also to build a relationship with me as your photographer. I can get a sense of what is right for you and what isn’t, what floats your boat and what sinks it!!
When Lauren and Dominic arrived, it was a beautiful sunny day and the sun was beginning to set, which gives this wonderful ethereal glow to the images. I love photographing around 6pm to 8pm in the evening during the summer because the ‘golden light’ is perfect and makes your photos have that extra something special.
Both Lauren and Dominic were wonderfully natural and relaxed! I always hope my couples can feel relaxed around me and I hope that my natural method of photography allows couples to be themselves as much as possible. I occasionally offer a little guidance in poses and how to stand but other than that I want you to make each other laugh and enjoy a little time together.
Calum and I can’t wait to shoot Lauren and Dominic’s wedding together. Lauren has already sent me a few ideas for photos in their venue Norwood Park, and I absolutely love when couples get creative and send me ideas. We will also be heading to the venue later this month to scope out some amazing spots for couples photos, group shots and more!
Thank you Lauren and Dominic for being such a lovely couple to photograph and let’s start the count down to your wedding!!
I love the photos Alexandra has done for our engagement shoot. We were both quite nervous in front of the camera but now definitely feel more at ease!
I like how our emotions have been captured and I love the more natural photos, especially the ones where we are laughing. Can’t wait to see our wedding photos!
