Longshaw Estate Engagement Session
I met Mel and Steve at one of my wedding fairs in Sheffield and had a good chat with them about their wedding plans for 2019. Both of them are such a lovely relaxed couple and I was excited to get their engagement session booked in!
We chose Longshaw Estate leading up to the top of Padley Gorge. It’s a beautiful part of the peak district and with the weather being absolutely amazing right now, I knew that shooting in the evening time would give me many a golden light opportunity!
We met up around 6pm after Mel & Steve’s sat nav had taken them on a little adventure. We walked around the estate and down to the gorge and photographed along the way. Mel and Steve were so natural in front of the camera and eased into being comfortable and relaxed.
The grounds provided the perfect environment and it was really ethereal and looked like something out of a Disney movie! I’m always so inspired by my locations and I definitely feed off of the environment, which comes through in my photos.
It was a great opportunity to get to know Mel and Steve a bit more, find out what else they have to plan for their day, which isn’t much considering it’s a while away still!
As we were walking back to the car’s and finished up, I started to head back to my car when I walked straight into someone elses car!! Which sent Mel and Steve into fits of laughter! Laugh with or laugh at, it was pretty funny and ridiculous. I also struggled to open a number of gates and we decided I should stick to my day job. And perhaps look forward as I’m walking! None the less, at least Mel and Steve saw the funny side to my clumsiness!
