Wiltshire Winter Wedding

A Wiltshire Winter Wedding

I recently second shot April & Luke’s winter wedding for Gemma of Romy Lawrence Photography, who were a super cute couple who had met at University. Their wedding was based in Wiltshire. It was an incredibly chilly day but luckily, the sun stayed out and we managed to get some lovely outdoor shots even if we did have to carry around blankets just in case!!

April and Luke had gone for a stunning winter theme, with the boquets containing pine cones and ferns, which smelt amazing. I really recommend having this just for the smell alone! Their tables were simple and elegant and the decorations around the room were snowflakes. Much of it was white, and it really complimented the barn and winter light streaming through.

As April walked down the aisle, “Kissing You” by Des’ree played in the background (from the Romeo & Juliet film). I almost started welling up as that song sets me off every time! April was so nervous but as soon as she locked eyes with Luke, the nerves melted away. After the ceremony, they served mulled apple cider and it filled the air with the smell of Christmas! April and Luke had really embraced the essence of winter.

We braved outdoors for the couples portraits and took some blankets and a mini hot water bottle, although April was brave enough to go sans blanket!! We worked with the beautiful winter light just before the sun set, and captured the couple amongst the Wiltshire countryside.

April and Luke were so happy on the day, and Luke had the most amazing slideshow during his speech, sharing with their family and friends the history of him and April, with a few comedic photos for good measure!

If you are considering a winter wedding, get in touch! I love a good wintery wedding. It can be an unappreciated season but I think we can create something beautiful and winter light is definitely something super special!

Email me here if you’re planning a special winter wedding. I will travel anywhere. Up a mountain or to Finland. Also check out the amazing Gemma of Romy Lawrence Photography for some super romantic photography!
