So I decided to book myself on a styled shoot to build my portfolio. I found Nicola Dixon somehow via the amazing internet, as per and enquired, not really knowing what to expect. I decided on the Swinton Bivouac shoot mainly because I wanted to do one as soon as physically possible and because I am very impatient!
So on a Sunny Sunday in May, I set off to Masham in North Yorkshire from Sheffield, arriving to meet a load of ladies I had never met before. Nervous didn’t even cut it. I always feel nervous meeting new people but I was super excited for the day ahead and what I would come away with.
I met Nicola and lots of other lovely ladies and eventually the happy couple for the day. Rebecca, one half of the models for the day was the nude body double for Cersei in Game of Thrones.. you know.. THAT scene.
We spent hours photographing the lovely couple in different locations around the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside at the Swinton Bivouac. It was a stunning area, suitable for glamping and regular good ol’ camping.
After the photography session, we sat down for a well earned afternoon tea, made by the Swinton Bivouac staff in their restaurant. Everything had a perfectly English quaint style to it, and a perfect amount of Yorkshire friendliness, which I adore!
It was a thoroughly worthwhile session. One where I have made amazing photographer friends Rachael and Emma, who I recently joined on another styled wedding shoot in Leeds. I’ll blog about that later!
